Our Story

The word NARRESO stands for ‘Natural Resources Research Organization’.

NARRESO is a Non-Governmental Organization registered under the NGO Act of 2002 with registration number 00004956, founded in 2011. NARRESO’s mission is to promote a learning society by conducting innovative research, vocational training and actively engaging in dialogue with all stakeholders to inform policies and practices on natural resources management that empowers women and youth. Our purpose is to be the champion in promoting vocational training for women and youth dropouts from secondary schools in Tanzania. Vocational training offered at NARRESO is designed and developed to tap opportunities and create jobs that can be explored in the field of natural resources management.  

Is the organization focusing on research-based activities on natural resources management specifically to land, forests, water, climate, energy, and wildlife. NARRESO is rooted in the philosophy of ‘knowledge sharing’ from research findings as fundamental towards promoting a well-educated and learning society and therefore enhancing the quality of livelihoods particularly to the vulnerable group such as women and youth.
